Pakistan Have Foreign Minister of Women

Hina Rabbani Khar is the first woman sworn into Pakistan's foreign minister on Tuesday (19/07/2011), ending a five-month vacancy for a week before crucial peace talks in India. Khar 34-year-old became the youngest minister in the cabinet. He is scheduled to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United States Hillary Clinton on the sidelines of the ASEAN regional forum (ARF) in Indonesia this weekend.


"On the advice of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Pakistan's President has decided to appoint Hina Rabbani Khar as the federal minister for foreign affairs," said Foreign Ministry.



"Khar is Pakistan's first foreign minister from among the female and the youngest." Although Benazir Bhutto, who was murdered-ever two-time prime minister, senior government positions usually held by men.

Observers questioned whether the Khar has the experience to control Pakistan's foreign kebijakaan although he has been a junior minister in charge of overseas for five months terakhir.Khar sworn by the acting president as head of state Farooq Naik Asif Ali Zardari was holding talks in Afghanistan.
The ministry said Foreign Minister Khar going to Indonesia this week to attend the ARF talks and met with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and Mrs. Clinton.

"After returning from Indonesia, he was going to India to hold a ministerial-level dialogue," he said.
Khar had been a junior minister of economic affairs during President Pervez Musharraf.
In the 2008 election, he joined the Pakistan People's Party led by Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and was elected as a member of parliament. He was later elected as a young finance minister before becoming minister of foreign young people five months ago.
Pakistan has no foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was removed from the cabinet reshuffle in February.

Appointment Khar became foreign minister in the midst of tensions with the United States a key ally turbulent since the assassination of Osama bin Laden on 2 May. United States suspended military aid to Pakistan, about a third of the 2.7 billion dollar defense aid-two months after the death of Osama bin Laden near the Pakistan military academy.
